Experiencing the piece in person reveals its full presence and energy. For Julie Loeckx, the work reflects the urban landscape with its optimism, dynamism, and underlying challenges. The resulting composition balances beauty and rawness, a defining characteristic of her artistic vision. Julie Loeckx is a well-established Belgian contemporary painter. Her distinctive and poetic visual language explores the space between figuration and abstraction, intimacy and distance. Through layered compositions and subtle emotional tension, her paintings evoke presence, memory, and introspection. She has developed a strong reputation through solo exhibitions at respected Belgian venues. Her work is held in private collections in Belgium and internationally, valued for its emotional clarity, authenticity, and intuitive strength. Her paintings radiate colour and optimism. Through a refined interplay of hues, gestures, and lines, Julie captures movement, beauty, and a sense of wonder. Whether quiet and contemplative or bold and expressive, her style remains unmistakable and deeply sincere. With a background in landscape architecture and urban planning, Julie brings a human-centred perspective to her work. This experience continues to inform her sensitivity to space, emotion, and visual rhythm. A significant recent milestone in her practice is the 2025 mural commissioned for Schilde Town Hall.
