Julie Loeckx is a rapidly emerging voice in contemporary painting. Her distinctive, poetic visual language explores the tension between figuration and abstraction, intimacy and distance. Layered and emotionally charged, her paintings evoke memory, gesture, and presence, while inviting quiet introspection.
In just a few years, Julie has gained recognition through solo exhibitions at respected Belgian venues, with her work entering private collections in Belgium and abroad. Collectors and curators are drawn to her intuitive process and the emotional resonance of her work.
Her paintings radiate color and optimism. Through a dynamic interplay of hues and lines, she captures beauty, energy, and wonder. Whether soft and contemplative or bold and expressive, her style is instantly recognizable: authentic, warm, and sincere.
Before turning to art full-time, Julie worked as a landscape architect and urban planner. That personal journey continues to inform her intuitive, human-centered approach to painting.
A recent highlight is her 2025 mural for Schilde Town Hall: a public commission that reflects the town’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, and shows her ability to translate emotional depth into powerful visual statements.
Julie continues to grow her practice through exhibitions and meaningful collaborations, contributing to her rising presence in the contemporary art world.
